Clean and neat. Plenty of places to hand things and hangers. Plenty of power outlets. Cons: The smell of the linens smell, although is good, but too strong. Not good for ppl with sensitive sinus. Aircon abit weak. Pavement not so friendly for trolley and luggages.

Shō Hotel is a fairly new hotel, bear in mind that it’s located in Jelutong and it’s 15 min of driving to Georgetown. It’s situated in a nearby quiet neighbourhood. It has all the facilities, gym, laundry room, swimming pool, bar, and not forget to mention there are 2 EV charging bays in LG basement parking level (40kW each with reasonable price - download Renergy app), free parking, welcome drinks for every day of stay, etc. The room is too spacious till looks empty I might say.  Few complaints I have to highlight: 1. Water pressure isn’t strong enough to cool down my body after a long day walking around Penang. 2. There is unpleasant cleaning detergent smell when opening the room door. Hope the management could do something to improve it. 3. Basement parking can be narrow for bigger car or MPV. 4. The bathroom glass is black, however we still can see the shadow of the person having a dump or taking a shower.

I stayed on high floor and was able to enjoy a beautiful city view from the room. The room was well-equipped with convenient facilities such as hangers to hang our towels and an LG brand water dispenser where you can choose the temperature you prefer for drinking. Overall, everything was good and comfortable. The only thing worth mentioning is the parking fee. Every day have to go down lobby redeem the parking but the car park still charges RM9 (we stayed 3d2n), which is something guests may want to take note of.

This is my second time staying here. As always every thing is perfect. They allowed us to have an early check in since the room was ready early. From check in to check out time everything was smooth. Luckily we were able to see again our favourite staff Ady but this time we saw many new faces. Thank you Ady for wonderful service again. Not forgetting Joshua as the Front Office Ambassador and the Duty Manager i forgot his name though. The housekeeping also maintained their good service to ensure our room condition was perfect. Kudos to Harun for the great work! And also thank you for the maintenance staff Rahim for assisting me to get better wifi connection. Please maintain what you all doing!

Great hospitality and service throughout my stay in Penang Amari Spice Hotel. Upon arrival, the reception team kindly upgraded me to a Premier King room without any request, which was a wonderful surprise. The room was spacious, clean, well-maintained, and had a pleasant scent—everything was excellent. I would like to express my utmost appreciation to the midnight team on 21/03/2026. During our stay, my friend suddenly fell seriously ill during midnight . We attempted to call emergency services (999), but unfortunately were unable to get through to the nearby general hospital immediately. The situation was critical, and waiting another 10–20 minutes could have put my friend’s life at risk. Thankfully, the Penang Amari hotel team acted swiftly and professionally. They followed up with us, and the female manager along with the guy management team arrived promptly to assess the situation. They provided immediate support and helped arrange transportation to the nearest hospital, ensuring we arrived within 10 minutes. Thanks to their quick response and care, my friend’s life was saved. And even after check out they still texting us to concern on the guest safety. We are deeply grateful for their kindness, efficiency, and dedication during such a critical moment. Overall is nice and new hotel, I love the hidden gem beach. just a little bit noisy from outside, i can heard the motor sound at night,soundproof need to be ungrade and the spoon in the room got a stain, quite disgusting.

everything is ok.. the breakfast food is delicious while eating you can see the sea.. the view is beautiful.. the location is good.. the beach is close to the hotel.. only the cleanliness is a little lacking in the room.. the bed sheet is dirty but a little.. the worst thing is the smell of the pillow is a bit less pleasant.. hope the hotel can make improvements

We had an amazing experience at Yeng Keng Hotel! The hotel offers a unique charm, and the staffs and cleanliness definitely exceeded our expectations. The combination of excellent service, pristine conditions, and a superb location made our stay truly memorable. Private carpark at the backyard is complimentary, and very secure. There is guard on duty 24/7 Would return for another stay during our next visit to Penang.

It was my husband's ***** birthday on the day we checked in, so I had requested a simple room decoration beforehand. The hotel room staff told me they would fold two elephants out of towels, which I thought was already very thoughtful! Then, they even sent up a cake, which I really appreciated! These warm gestures made our Penang trip truly memorable. The room was clean and comfortable, and even though it was a little dated, it wasn't run-down. I was very satisfied with this experience and would definitely stay here again if I have the chance.
