I took the Hiroden train from Hiroshima Station and it was very close to Chuden-mae Station, which was very helpful. If you have luggage and it's hot, it's really helpful that it's almost door-to-door.
It's a 10-minute walk to the Peace Memorial Museum, which is my destination, and it might be a bit tiring in the heat of summer, but I got a ticket for 7:30, so I was able to travel in relatively cool weather.
The breakfast was sufficient, and I was able to get vegetables, fruits, hot soup, and rice, which was very helpful. Since my ticket was for 7:30, it was also helpful that breakfast started at 6:30.
The room was also sufficient for sleeping. I think the bathroom and toilet are small, but it doesn't bother me too much if you think about it as a place to sleep.
There was no customer service because it was self-check-in, but the breakfast venue was a fierce battle for seats and food refills, and both the staff and customers were a bit brutal. It can't be helped since it was the busy Obon season. It's not a very relaxing place, but I thought it was enough to be able to get hot rice other than bread.
One thing is that the smoking room is right in front of the reception desk, and the reception desk and elevator smelled very much of cigarettes. The dining area towards the back didn't bother me. But it was not pleasant to be greeted by the smell of cigarette smoke. They also provided robes there, but I didn't feel like wearing them.
After checking out, there was almost no security, but I was still able to leave my luggage in a free area with a lock, which was helpful.
Although it required quite a bit of walking, there were many places to eat, such as the Sogo Bus Center, Sun Mall, and the Hatchobori shopping district, where you could find local beer, local restaurants, bars, and bakeries.
I think I will stay here again when I visit the Memorial Hall.
